Hint: In Micronesia it was used since the 16th century and it is used now.
Correct answer: It is RAI - stone money on islands Yap in Micronesia!
"Currency" on islands Yap in age-old times were stone disks which can reach car weight. Diameter of some "money" reaches almost 4 meters! And the opening in the center of "coins" allows to transfer money, having passed throughout them a thick bamboo pole. Now this money, of course, isn't means of payment, but still is on rural squares. And owners of money aren't afraid of their theft at all and, for these coins, still haven't thought up purses :-)!
