RE: Today in History: Milli Vanilli stripped of their Grammy Award

This brings back so many memories.. one being my first trip to the USA in 1989. We hired this Chevvy Beretta.. a big car but quite gutless when you put your foot down as a rental.

Then there was the radio.. big booming speakers and when 'Baby, dont forget my number' came on.. it shook the damn car, such was the bass.

They were bigger in the USA but had some impact in the UK. Ashamed to say I havd a CD single still knocking about the house, could be 'Girl, you know it's true'..., my taste was rather more mainstream then.

One of my favorite things in the 90's was working on having a crazy high-performance stereo in my car. Lord only knows how much money I spent on it, certainly more than the car was worth which just seems silly to 40 year old me today.

The Americans and their cars.. where do I start? I would need a full post to place my perspective on that topic.. haha!

you should make that post. I'd like an outsider's perspective on it! I was more of a decent car, excessively awesome stereo type American. But i suppose that is just as common

I will.. it will fit nicely into 'true stories'..
