An economy based exclusively or predominantly on hydrocarbons and mining may be an easy but falsely rich economy, as has happened in Venezuela.
Exactly buddy. This is the reason I've always advocated for diversification of economy. National income should not be solely based on one sector, otherwise self-reliance will just be a mirage.
