Destiny of the Norse mythology
Hello everyone!
This time I’m going to present one of the most interesting creatures of Norse mythology. Who is responsible for destiny in the ancient Scandinavian history? Doesn’t that interest you?
Those are creatures called Norns. The Norns are three female divine beings who have the most influence over the course of destiny. They spend most of their time spinning the treads of life and deciding the face of all living beings. These creatures live within the Well of Urd which is located in Asgard beneath Yggdrasil, the great ash tree. This tree stands at the centre of the universe and holds the Nine Worlds.
The Norns shape destiny by craving runes into the trunk of the tree or weaving destiny like a web. Imagine all your life based on the web, how fragile!
Also interesting fact, the Norns have names based on destiny that translated means: What Once Was, What Is Coming into Being, What Shall Be. Conception of shaping destiny in the Norse mythology is discussed; however the dew reshapes the past and its influence upon the present. That way using magic destiny changes actively while all beings do it passively.
The divine creatures start morning by placing a rooster at the top of Yggdrasil, then the crowning of the rooster wakes up and calls for all the Gods and Goddesses in Asgard. The Norns carry water from Urd’s well and pour it over Yggdrasil to keep it green and healthy.
These respected women are also believed to always be the ones to visit the newborns for securing good health for the mother and the child.
Thank you for your time, I hope this post was interesting for you!
Reminds me of the disney movie Hercules :D
This is excellent news. Well done!
These are very interesting stories, is the artwork really created by yourself? If so wow you are extreamly talented.
Is this digital art or paint/pen?
I collect information from old books and internet that I could find and then try to present for people in an interesting way. These are digital arts, but not by me ;)
