"The picture instead of one thousand words"
The phrase "the picture instead of one thousand words" was thought up by the American editor of the newspaper Artur Brisbeyn in 1911. This simple combination of words which approaches many aspects of our life, but especially – to historical photos. One simple picture can sometimes tell about the past much more, than long articles and chronicles.
