Cleaning Stations: Things you do aboard ship

in #history7 years ago (edited)

No matter the size of the ship, it will likely feel cramped, with limited space, especially for enlisted personnel. Each service member is expected to police their own gear, each division is assigned to provide general cleanliness and maintenance in those spaces.

Cleaning is done at the beginning of the day and end of the workday. All enlisted members of the division are expected to clean and the LPO is expected to inspect the spaces before reporting to the division's Chief.

This type of activity is completed by all ratings, technical, ship services, engineering, and undesignated will all CLEAN. This type of cleaning can include general custodial work, polishing brass and checking the functions of showers and lighting. This outside the required preventativemaintenance checks required by the 3M-Coordinator.

As you can see from the video the LPO has deployed his division's personnel around the ship ensuring his division's spaces are clean and up to snuff for any future executive officer walkthrough. The XO will lead all formal expectations of spaces to include berthing.
