It was during Ozolua reign that a Portuguese, John Affonso d'Aviero visited Benin.

He introduced guns and coconut to the kingdom.
Ozolua died through poison from his soldiers after a war against the Onojie of Uromi.

Esigie crown prince name was Osawe. He succeeded his father Ozolua.

He had a half brother by name Aruaran. Aruaran was a man of great status.

He worried Esigie so much until he was defeated during a war at Udo.

During one of the battles, his only son was killed. To avoid being captured, Aruaran drown himself at Odighi lake.
