Weird history.

Honestly this seems less weird to me than it seems to most people. You have a clear chain of custody between the people that have the common sense to hold down a good and responsible job. I'm sure they had appropriate protocols and didn't treat the kids like regular packages. I think this is no stranger and perhaps even a little bit more reasonable than our daycare situation nowadays.
