RE: Today in History: Al Capone released from Alcatraz
Very interesting! I studied History at university, and one of the subjects I specialised in focused on America in the 1920s. While I vivdly remember learning about the St Valentine's Day massacre, I don't remember learning that Al Capone lived out his autumn years in comfort, out of jail. It just shows the importance of questioning what we are taught and doing our own research. Otherwise our "education" is simply propaganda.
The St Valentine's Day massacre an "unsolved" case? How convenient! Maybe just another instance of police and "authorities" being very cosy with mobsters.
Well the crazy thing is that Chicago was ashamed of something like 70 murders during the Capone years but now it is 10x that amount and no one ever talks about it
