Traces of History Between Aceh and Libya
Two years in Libya, leaving deep memories for Ligadinsyah. The then 24-year-old League was selected as one of five Acehnese to receive a scholarship at Al Fatah University, Tripoli, in 1986. He majored in Arabic. "We lectured there on the recommendation of the late Teungku Hasan Tiro," the 48-year-old league told The Atjeh Post on Friday.
According to Ligadinsyah, shortly after he was to Libya, then another Aceh youth waves were sent there to join military training. "In 1987, I was trusted as a translator for comrades in military training, and during my college holidays I also joined in military training," he recalled.
Although the GAM rebellion began in 1977, massive military education did not begin until 1986-1990. Then spilled ruahlah about a thousand Acehnese youth to Libya. They are sent in three waves. It was this Libyan Alumni who later became the backbone of GAM's movement. In fact, Muzakir Manaf, former GAM Commander who is now chairman of the Aceh Party is a former Libyan alumni.
Located about 10 kilometers from downtown Tripoli and on the seafront, the Tajura camp is one of the training camps reserved for 'troubled' groups with the country. Lingga said, Gaddafi called it: training for the oppressed and oppressed people in his country.
"As far as I know, the funds are from the official budget of Libya.Gaddafi says it's official aid for people who are tyrannized in his country," said Liga.
Apart from Aceh, Lingga said, the military training was followed by 'rebels' from Pattani (Thailand), Moro (Filipino), Latin America and Africa.
How far is Hasan Tiro's closeness to Gaddafi? According to Ligadinsyah, the relationship is close enough. In fact, Hasan Tiro is believed to be chairman of Makbatabah Al Alami, a non-structural institution that became political advisor to Gaddafi.
In addition, Tiro is also asked to become President Committee of military training participants, overseeing participants from other countries. "His level of trust in Teungku Hasan is very high, and Teungku Hasan is also quite popular among Khadafi's right-handers," Ligadinsyah said.
Ligadinsyah also remembers correctly, some of the best GAM graduates in Tanjura have been private bodyguards in the ring of one Khadafi. For him, Libya and Gaddafi are the forerunners of the independent Aceh war. "If Indonesia is the military standard of the United States, the GAM army used to refer to Libya."
A series of memories and relationships that make Ligadinsyah feel terenyuh when on television, he saw Gaddafi killed and treated inhumanely on Thursday (20/10) morning. "Personally I am sad too and do not sympathize with such violent acts.
Whatever the story, he was the leader who ever liberated Libya from the tyranny of King Idris and a respected leader in the Arab countries. She should be treated more humane, "he said.
Now, Gaddafi and Hasan Tiro are gone. They leave with traces of history between Aceh and Libya.
