THE KINGDOM OF APES: THE BIRTH OF A NATION IN AFRICA

I have thought about this several times and wish to let the world know the story of the birth of a nation in Africa using fictional objects, animals and names to depict actual events that took place. This is not a story that never occurred but a true life story and some steemians who are historians will understand this story. The subject matter is basically to show the trends of the birth of one of the most populated black nation in Africa. I have no intention to blackmail or blame any individual whether dead or alive but to describe what actually happened, using characters that could be easily explained to an audience who may or may not have heard about how this nation came to be. I intend to publish this story in epistles so as to create a contest out of this. There shall be questions emanating from each epistle which I intend to publish three days after each epistle is posted.
Note: I do not intend to blame or describe anybody, group and tribe as evil or the cause of however or whichever way this story ends. Read and understand the series with an open mind. There are lesson to be learnt here. Also, suggestions would be welcomed as we proceed in publishing; it could be the mode of contest, suggestion on how to make it more fun as we continue on the story etc.
Remember to support this project in any form you can so that the resources needed to carry out the contest will never be a problem. Let’s make this fun!

BACKGROUND

Once upon a time in the animal Kingdom, there were families and species of different animals all fighting for survival and the strongest survives over the weak and this led to migration of weaker specie to other parts of the earth. This migration caused more divisions amongst all animals. All species would choose to be in colony by their kind and they all had a leader who directs them, usually emergence to this position is by strength not by vote or age. The strongest always emerge the leader; and when another can defeat the leader, automatically becomes the new leader.
Amongst all animals as at that time the apes were the strongest and wisest of all animals. They could make fire for cooking and roasting, they could make weapons for war. They built houses for comfortable living, over time they could teach the younger generation how to war, hunt, cook, build and other activities that brings about a society. Over time, they started building fenced cities for defense against external forces. There was a rapid development in the way they reasoned, associate and work. They develop tools for improved method of cultivating and hunting. As their villages expands and more children survived the harsh weather due to improved houses built and also better understanding of the climate, medicine and the production of food, there was rapid growth in the population. Families started migrating to other parts of the forest; this led to the kingdom having villages answerable to the mother town they migrated from. Apes started behaving differently from other animals in terms of association and political lives. Becoming a Leader was no more by the strongest but by the most influential in the community.

The People decide who leads them through voting. Conquering territories became the way forward for broader control of power and resources. Hence, they started migrating to other parts of the earth to conquer and colonize other species of the ape family that do not have the knowledge they have acquired over time. The family of the Ape kingdom includes; Gorillas, Chimpanzee, Baboons and monkeys. The monkeys were referred as the weaker amongst them, Hence they were called the minority even though they were more in number than others in the Ape family. The main reason for going to conquer more territories was to get more laborers for agricultural activities (slaves), extracting resources from conquered territories in order to develop their own region.

The birth of a Nation in Africa
The Gorillas invaded Africa, some through the East, West and the south, Taking captives as slaves to their region to work as laborers in their farmlands. They would also carry anything meaningful to them as they transport these slaves mostly monkeys (monkeys were seen as the weak because they had tails). At first, the Gorillas had resistance from the natives. The kings and leaders of the African natives which were chimpanzees and Baboons called for unity amongst villages and town to resist the invaders (Gorillas). Remember, the Gorillas had better armory and weapons than the natives. The natives decided to use black magic to resist the Gorillas, where they send mysterious bees, mosquitos and other deadly mysterious approach to send the Gorillas away from their Town.

The first Gorilla that discovered western Africa named Parky, advised his fellow countrymen that the only way to have the attention of this African natives is to and subdue them is to give them what they need or what they do not have. So, they brought items that were inventions to give as gifts to chimpanzees and Baboons that were rulers in the African Region and in place they were given slaves. This strategy gave a boost to the slavery business as disobedient or stubborn servants of the rulers were sold to these invaders as slaves for mirror and other items such as strong drinks (whiskey).

SLAVE TRADE CONTINUES
The boost in the new strategy made other region of Gorillas joined in the business and claimed more territories by force or by giving the African chimpanzees and Baboons gifts that will make them take slaves to Europe. These led to a great competition between Gorillas who will take control of a particular territory due to the number of available and potential slaves. There was need for proper sharing of territory (a conference took place at Balinese) where territories were shared. Some of these slaves were used as workers at farms (those that were stronger), others were used for amusement (Zoo where other Gorillas watch and make fun of the slaves), and others were used as sex machine. The trade continued for a while and the black region suffered a great loss as the stronger, kings and rulers who sold their fellow countrymen for items and drinks.

The western world enjoyed the labor force of the slaves, which work in their farms for the production of food and this led to high supply of cash crops. There was a need to store and refined these crops, that brought about the invention of machine for production of refined agricultural produce and safe storage of these produce. Inventions of machines such as tractors and other farm machinery made the Gorillas mindset to change. One Gorilla who really fought for the abolition of the slave trade was a lady who wrote against the act of slavery helped in the abolition of slave trade and slave markets in mid-18th century. Also, other religion bodies( missionaries) supported the abolition.
