Musahi Miyamoto

Examining each piece of armor at the time I couldn't help but think of "Musashi Myamoto" one of the most famous swordsman of japan, surviving 61 duels that set the record in Japan the next to even come close was 33 by" Itō Ittōsai". Musashi was the founder of the Niten-Ichi-Ryû-School and was also the author of "The 5 Rings" and "The Way I Go Alone". In a post I made in my early STEEMIT days I had spoke of receiving one of these books of "Musashi Miyamoto" at the age of thirteen and how I have always applied the fundamentals he taught. Musashi once said "It can be difficult at first, but everything is difficult at first" ...The simplicity of his philosophy hits home, especially knowing his reputation as of someone who has mastered the art of walking alone since the age of thirteen and killing his first man in a duel with only a wooden sword .

There is even to this day giant statues at key locations where "Musashi Miyamoto" fought. This one here right above is depicting the duel between "Musashi" and "Sasaki Kajiro" one of his last duels, and in that fight "Musashi" knew "Kajiro" was famos for having a sword just a few inches longer than most giving him a reach advantage, so "Musahi" took his time rowing his boat to the island where the duel was to take place, and as he took his time he carved the ore he was paddling with a few inches longer than "Kajiro's" sword , as well taking his time made " kajiro" impatient especially when he seen "Musashi" didn't bring his sword to the duel, but little did he know the ore "Musashi" was carving on an paddling his was to the fight with, was the instrument of death that would ultimately lead to "Sasaki Kajiro's" death.

"Shogun Assassins"

Also every time I think of "Musashi" I think of " Shogun Assassins". One of the best samurai movies ever made with a whole series narrated by "Lone Wolfs" son "Dijaro" it's a story about the shoguns former executioner being hunted by his ninja and samurai for hire, and the son this executioner is along for the ride aiding his father and telling his story, I've watched this movie since I was a kid and I loved the fact they name dropped it in "KILL BILL".
