.... Why the Center Does Not Respond to the Sultan of Aceh Becoming a National Hero ....
How sad and disappointed that you have read the news about the history of the Sultan of Aceh. The disappointment here was nothing but when there was a request to enter one of the Aceh sultans into the name of a national hero. In Aceh, the Sultan is considered a hero who cannot be replaced by anyone. ![image]() [source img]
But today to be recognized as a national hero we must beg to Jakarta. Apparently leaders in this country have forgotten the history of Aceh which has maintained this Republic. Isn't Indonesia independent because of Aceh. But why do they not Jakarta people open their eyes to see that. Really cruel Indonesian state, Aceh has a history you never acknowledged.
BANDA ACEH Waspada: Sultan Alaidin Muhammad Dawod Shah (1884-1939) has a stake in the founding of the Republic of Indonesia. Unfortunately, until now there has been no official recognition from the government for its sacrifice.
Aceh historian DrM Adli Abdullah M.CL told Waspada on Friday (9/11) said that various elements in Aceh had proposed for decades that the 35th Sultan of Aceh would be crowned a hero. "It has often been proposed, but there has been no response from the Center," Adli said in a disappointed tone.
In fact, according to him, Sultan Dawod Syah, desperately defended his territory so as not to fall into the hands of the Dutch. While other Sultan in the archipelago who were friends with invaders had received recognition as heroes.
Said Adli, Muhammad Dawod Shah is the last sovereign Aceh Sultan. He led the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam when the war raged. "Most of his age runs out in the struggle to defend Aceh's sovereignty. His body must be held captive, he never wants to release his homeland to the invaders," he said.
Mentioned, the life of the king of Aceh was not as beautiful and luxurious as other kings in the archipelago who recognized the existence of colonial colonists, where they received grandeur and social status to their descendants.
Whereas the Sultan of Aceh, said the Unsyiah lecturer, since being sown as a king, his life continued guerrilla in the forests of Aceh in order to maintain the spirit of his country until captured and banished by the Dutch on January 20, 1903 and died in exile, without ever surrendering the sovereignty of Aceh to the colonizers and not ever been impeached (inherited) by customary Aceh.
Based on the records, Muhammad Dawod Shah was born in 1871, two years before the Dutch invaded Aceh on March 26, 1873 M. Since he was 7 years old, he was sown as Sultan of Aceh at Indrapuri Mosque on Thursday, December 26, 1878, replacing Sultan Alaidin Mahmudsyah (1870 -1874) who died on January 28, 1874, at 12:00.
"According to the historical records of Sultan Mahmudsyah, he died of a cholera epidemic and was buried in Cot Bada Samahani, Aceh Besar. The cholera epidemic was brought by the Dutch and this was the first chemical weapons used by invaders in the history of world civilization," Adli said.
Then, according to him, after the appointment of Sultan Muhammad Daud syah as Sultan of Aceh, Aceh officials such as Tuanku Hasyem Banta Muda, Teuku Commander of Kuala Young Polem, Teungku Syiek in Tanoh Abee continued to develop a new strategy to attack the Netherlands in Kuta Raja.
"In 1880, Teungku Chik at Tiro Muhammad Saman who had just returned from Mecca joined Sultan Muhammad Daudsyah in the ranks of warriors and was appointed minister of war (Amirul Harb) against Beanda. The role of Tgk Syik in Tiro Muhammad Saman and his descendants was very large in history Aceh, the Dutch themselves later considered the Aceh war to be over on December 3, 1911, for a moment Teugku Maat Syiek di Tiro Syahid on Mount Himalaya, "Adli said, referring to a reference book written by Ismail Yakob in 1943.
Sultan Muhammad Dawod Shah who died on February 6, 1939, then greatly contributed to Aceh and the Archipelago. "He never wanted to sign a letter defeated to the Netherlands, he should have been appointed as a national hero," said Adli.
Sebelumnya, sekira dua tahun silam.
From the story above how proud the Acehnese have smart, persistent and courageous people who are not owned by any nation in this world. But it seemed as if it did not appear in the eyes of the central government of Jakarta. This is what makes the generations disappointed and disappointed in the government both past and present.
