Klaus Fuchs is recognized as the most effective agent among those who transferred to the Soviet Union information about the creation of the American atomic bomb.The son of a famous German theologian-Quaker,in his youth became interested in Marxism,joining the German Communist party.After the Nazis came to power, he emigrated to the UK.

Since the beginning of the Second world war he was interned and organized in the camp courses for physics lovers.One of the participants in the British nuclear project Rudolph Piers took him to their group,and the 33 year of his life encouraged to participate in the "Manhattan project."By this time,Fuchs had already voluntarily and on his own initiative worked for the Soviet intelligence, transmitting information through a messenger Harry gold,.In 41 years he was arrested by British intelligence services,which,however, did not give him to the United States, than actually saved from an electric chair.In exchange for the surrendered Fuchs, Harry gold,got 14 years and was released early.
