In the first century AD the power of the Roman Empire began to weaken, the biggest problem especially in the economy of the country and the rebellion of the tribes that had been conquered by the Romans. The Roman Empire finally broke into two parts of East and West. Eastern Rome under the leadership of Constantine who can still defend his territory. In the west it is scattered and becomes a colony of the German tribes.
At the beginning of the sixth century Italy fell into the hands of the tribes Ostrogoths and Gauls fell into the hands of the tribes of France. The Wisigoths controlled Spain and the Vandals controlled the North African region.
At the same time the Merowing tribe succeeded in unifying all the German tribes in the French territory and drafting a new constitution for the West, so that power in the Mediterranean region moved to the North and ended the culture of ancient times.
The Early Christian Period
The early Christian period was divided into three parts:
- The Pursuit Period (0 - 325 M)
- Recognition Period (325 - 395)
- The split of the Roman Empire (395 M)
Early Christianity occurred in the Middle Ages, whereas Greek and Roman developments took place in classical times.
