About 400 years before Christopher Columbus reached America, a group of legendary British sailors of the Vikings began to leave Europe in search of a new world. They made the voyage by using wooden boats and successfully landed in North America.
At first, they came to a barren land now called Canada. Then, they went on sailing to find more fertile ground, and finally found a place that is now called Labrador.
They decided to set up camp at the northern end of the island of Newfoundland and spend the entire winter in the region. But the Vikers have not settled in America for a long time, because the encounter with the natives of North American Red Indians is feared to cause conflict, so after the winter is over, the vikings decide to resume the voyage.
Archaeologists have also found evidence in several places including Canada, Labrador, and Newfoundland that show that Vikings have reached America long before Christopher Columbus set foot there.
