the history of 307 refugio barcelona ..
HELLO STEEMIANS :D
I just want to share our tour visit in the historical place in barcelona
called 307 refugio the tunnel where the spanish people hiding
and working on it DURING THE WAR ! wow they are so incredible
and only woman, teenagers, and old people did build all that because
all the man was in the war .. they build that tunnel for 1 year and 10months ..
and here is more :)
El Refugio 307 is one of the best preserved specimens of the network of tunnels created by the people of Barcelona during the Spanish Civil War, as a means of defense for the bombings that, until then, had never been practiced in the West on inhabited cities.1
Interior of Refuge 307.
This tunnel is one of the hundreds created by then, and one of the few currently accessible. It was built by the residents of the neighborhood, with the help of the Government of Catalonia, who also provided them with tools and materials. Its name is due to the fact that it corresponded to tunnel number 307 to be entered into the town hall records. Located in the Pueblo Seco neighborhood, it was built at the surface level (unlike most of the others, which were underground) taking advantage of the proximity of the Montjuic mountain to be dug into it. The tunnel forms a network of 200 meters built, with 2.10 meters high and between 1.5 and 2 meters wide.1
Currently Refugio 307 belongs to one of the annexes of the Museum of History of Barcelona, so that your income is enabled for visits.
the guy was talking in the video was our tour guide
about what he is saying in that video that
actual place in the video is current hospital
of the injured spanish during the war ..they put
the bed in the side of the wall for more comfortable
for the patient because beside of the wall is wet and a bit
cold much better for the injured patient
inside of the refugio is so hot and sweating so
they need a fresh feeling thats why they put the bed
beside of the wall :)
