History of aceh | Sejarah Aceh
Aceh is one of the areas of Indonesia which is located at the very own end of the archipelago archipelago. Aceh or also known as Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam is an indigenous tribe that has a special historical roots for Indonesia. Aceh also got the nickname of the Serambi Mekah, this is because Aceh has the ideological value of Islam inherent and so thick in the life of its people.
Aceh adalah salah satu daerah di Indonesia yang terletak di ujung kepulauan nusantara sendiri. Aceh atau juga dikenal sebagai Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam adalah suku asli yang memiliki akar sejarah khusus untuk Indonesia. Aceh juga mendapat julukan Serambi Mekah, ini karena Aceh memiliki nilai ideologis Islam yang melekat dan begitu kental dalam kehidupan masyarakatnya.
Aceh as a certain ethnic and territorial entity is very different from other ethnic or territory in Indonesia. Acehnese people are pluralistic and open society. In this area there are 8 subetnis, namely Aceh, Alas, Aneuk Jamee, Gayo, Kluet, Simeulu, Singkil, and Tamiang. These eight sub-ethnics have a history of origins and cultures that are very different from one another. For example, according to the history, the sub-ethnic Aneuk Jamee are migrants from West Sumatera (ethnic Minangkabau) so that the Aneuk Jamee sub-ethnic culture is similar to the Minangkabau ethnic culture.
Aceh sebagai sebuah entitas etnis dan wilayah tertentu sangat berbeda dengan etnis atau wilayah lainnya di Indonesia.Masyarakat Aceh adalah masyarakat yang pluralistis dan terbuka. Di daerah ini terdapat 8 subetnis, yaitu Aceh, Alas, Aneuk Jamee, Gayo, Kluet, Simeulu, Singkil, dan Tamiang. Kedelapan subetnis tersebutmempunyai sejarah asal-usul dan budaya yang sangat berbeda antara satu dengan yang lain. Misalnya, menurutsejarahnya, sub etnis Aneuk Jamee merupakan pendatang yang berasal dari Sumatera Barat (etnis Minangkabau) sehingga budaya subetnis Aneuk Jamee mempunyai kemiripan dengan budaya etnis Minangkabau.
While still a kingdom, what Aceh meant is what is now known as Aceh Besar, which in Aceh is called Aceh Rayeuk, which is one of the districts or local level II in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. While still a kingdom, Aceh Rayeuk is the core of the Aceh Kingdom and has spread its population to the blood-another area around it that the Dutch called Onderhorigheden. The term Aceh is also used by people in the subdistrict of Aceh Besar within the Kingdom of Aceh to name the royal capital now called Banda Aceh. Those who inhabit the east coast such as Pidie, Aceh Utara to East Aceh, and the west and south coast, if they want to go to the royal capital (Banda Aceh) say they want to go to Aceh. This title is still there that use it until now.
Pada waktu masih sebagai sebuah kerajaan, yang dimaksud dengan Aceh adalah wilayah yang sekarang dikenal dengan nama Aceh Besar, yang di dalam istilah Aceh disebut Aceh Rayeuk, yaitu salah satu kabupaten atau daerah tingkat II di Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. Semasa masih sebagai kerajaan, Aceh Rayeuk merupakan inti Kerajaan Aceh dan telah menyebarkan sebagian penduduknya ke darah-daerah lain di sekitarnya yang oleh Belanda dinamakan Onderhorigheden. Sebutan Aceh juga digunakan oleh orang-orang di daerah takluk di luar Aceh Besar dalam wilayah Kerajaan Aceh untuk menyebut nama ibukota kerajaan yang sekarang bernama Banda Aceh. Mereka yang mendiami pesisir Timur seperti Pidie, Aceh Utara hingga Aceh Timur, dan pesisir barat dan Selatan, jika mau ke ibu kota kerajaan (Banda Aceh) mengatakan mau pergi ke Aceh. Sebutan ini masih ada yang menggunakannya sampai sekarang.
Apart from being a regional name, Aceh is also the name of one ethnic or ethnic group as the indigenous people who inhabit Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province. In the province of Naggroe Aceh Drussalam now there are 20 areas of the second level which is inhabited by eight ethnic groups, namely ethnic Aceh, Gayo, Alas, Tamiang, Aneuk Jamee, Kluet, Simeulue, and Singkil. All ethnicities are indigenous, in Dutch terms called inlander (indigenous population).
Selain sebagai nama daerah, Aceh juga merupakan nama salah satu suku bangsa atau etnis sebagai penduduk asli yang mendiami Provinsi Nanggroe Aceh Darusssalam. Di Provinsi Naggroe Aceh Drussalam sekarang terdapat 20 daerah tingkat II yang di diami oleh delapan kelompok etnis, yaitu etnis Aceh, Gayo, Alas, Tamiang, Aneuk Jamee, Kluet,Simeulue, dan Singkil. Semua etnis in adalah penduduk asli yang dalam istilah Belanda disebut inlander (penduduk pribumi).
Until now there has been no concrete certainty about the origin and when the term Aceh began to be used because the data that can give conclusions about the origin of ethnic Aceh is not found. The information or sources derived from the Acehnese themselves on this subject are still popular stories that are passed down from generation to generation that are difficult to justify. The outsiders who had visited Aceh when still as a kingdom mentioned with various names. The Portuguese for example call the name Achen and Achem, the English call Achin, the French call Achen and Acheh, the Arabs call Asyi, while the Dutch name Atchin and Acheh. The Acehnese themselves call themselves by the name of Ureung Aceh (Acehnese). Indeed there are some sources that inform the origins of the Acehnese and Acehnese names, but they are mystical or fairy-tale, although some are cited by foreign authors such as Dutch writers.
Hingga saat ini belum ada satu kepastian yang konkrit mengenai asal muasal dan kapan istilah Aceh mulai digunakan karena data yang dapat memberi kesimpulan tentang asal muasal etnis Aceh tersebut tidak ditemukan. Infromasi atau sumber yang berasal dari orang Aceh sendiri tentang hal ini masih berupa kisah-kisah popular yang disampaikan secara turun-temurun yang sulit untuk dipertanggung jawabkan kebenarannya. Para pendatang luar yang pernah mengunjungi Aceh sewaktu masih sebagai sebuah kerajaan menyebutkan dengan nama beragam. Orang Portugis misalnya menyebut dengan nama Achen dan Achem, orang Inggris menyebut Achin, orang Perancis menamakan Achen dan Acheh, orang Arab menyebut Asyi, sementara orang Belanda menamakan Atchin dan Acheh. Orang Aceh sendiri menyebut dirinya dengan nama Ureung Aceh (orang Aceh). Memang terdapat beberapa sumber yang menginformasikan tentang asal muasal nama Aceh dan etnis Aceh, namun sember-sumber tersebut bersifat mistis atau dongeng, meskipun ada juga yang dikutip oleh para penulis asing seperti penulis-penulis Belanda.
