National idea = national conflicts?

The national idea is one of the key circumstances that appears in all wars and international conflicts in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In philosophy, this concept is interpreted as a systematized generalization of national identity. The national idea defines the meaning of the existence of a people, ethnic group or nation. It can be expressed through works of art or various philosophical texts and is intended to answer a number of questions that characterize a nation. As each nation develops, it forms its own set of behavioral stereotypes, a national code of communication, which is concentrated in the national idea.
Reasons for the emergence of a national idea. There are three reasons why a nation needs a national idea. The first is the need for the people's survival in difficult conditions, the desire to "withstand the threat of destruction." The second is the need to preserve the existing standards of living, the desire to keep "everything as it is." The third is the need to develop the nation to the highest standards of living, the desire to "live better than most others."
The main modern narratives about the history of European nations emerged in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, often as a direct response to the political crisis caused by the French Revolution. As a result, the nineteenth century was an era of the rise of national histories, which tended to average and close in on themselves, never fully succeeding in either direction. In the first half of the twentieth century, the notion of national history went through several crises, including those associated with the two world wars and their aftermath. However, national history also reached its apogee in a series of hyper-nationalistic narratives that demonstrated unprecedented destructive power. While the second half of the twentieth century was an era of movement toward a kind of post-nationalism, historiographies and historical texts remain rigidly structured along national lines.
