The quill is the most commonly used pen in the world, from the 6th century to the 19th century (1300 years)
The quill is a stationery made of feathers (especially the main wing feathers) of a large bird.

This quill is used to write with ink before the invention of pen and metal pen.
Goose feathers is sometimes used as a calligraphy tool, because some paper is made of wood fiber.
However, it is still an optional tool for some professionals because it is more fractional than a steel pen.
