Museum Tsunami
The Aceh Tsunami Museum is a museum in Banda Aceh designed as a symbolic monument to the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami disaster as well as an education center and emergency shelter if tsunami strikes again
This museum is also as a monument to commemorate a very devastating disaster that hit the aceh community in 2004 ago which claimed up to 2400.000 inhabitants.
The museum was built by BRR and designed by M. Ridwan Kamil one of ITB's lecturers after the design competition. This aceh Tsunami Museum has cost Rp.140 billion for its construction. if noticed from above this museum illustrates tsunami waves, but if seen from the bottom it looks like a rescue boat with a wide deck as one of the rescue sites.
The purpose of the tsunami museum was established not only to be a monument building, but also as one of the historic objects and as a symbol of Aceh aceh community power in the face of the world's biggest calamity, In addition this building is expected to be a legacy for generations of Aceh and all Indonesians in the future as a message and the lesson that the great calamity that is sunami ever hit Aceh that has swallowed many victims.

The final level of the Aceh Tsunami Museum Building serves as an emergency rescue site in case of future eventst.
