Sudan series (1) the black Pharaohs\Kings
In this series I will introduce Sudan from different dimension, We are talking about approximately 600 ethnic groups , more than 200 native languages and more than 500 accent in around 1 million mile country inhibited since 5 thousand years BC .
Africa & Sudan
First of all we need to understand When it all started , as many archaeologist agree that most evidence indicate that Africa is the origin of humanity some consider this still a theory , OOT ( Out of Africa" theory ) ,
am not keen to discuses this now but it give you a sense that Africa is the most underestimated area regarding paleoanthropology and history studying , let's see live example .
Sudan
it all started before 5000 years BC , this land south to Egypt as we know it now was home for many ancient civilizations, like Kingdom of Kush, Kerma, Nobatia, Alodia, Makuria, Meroë and others . most thrive around the great Nile ( longest river in the world ) .
If i write about all ancient kingdoms it may need a very looong blog or almost a book so to save you some time i will talk bravely about selected points , i already included a link for each kingdom above , i will give you links bellow and i will attach some documentary videos at the end .
Kingdom of Kush : Sudan Pharaohs ruled Egypt
mainly rule in Nubia , was established after the Bronze age , centered in Napata in its early stage . King Kashta ("the Kushite") invaded Egypt in the 8th century BC, the Kushite emperors ruled as pharaohs of the 25th dynasty of Egypt for a century, until they were defeated by the Assyrians under the rule of Esarhaddon.

Black kings
Piye ( Piankhi ) 721 BC was an ancient Kushite king and founder of the 25th dynasty of Egypt , he ruled Egypt from 747 BCE to c. 722 BCE. from the city of Napata,
Taharqa is son of Piye, the Nubian king who had first conquered Egypt. he was also the cousin of Shebitku. The successful campaigns of both paved the way for Taharqa , see pic below .
Black God
Apedemak or Apademak, was a lion headed warrior god worshiped by the Meroitic in Nubia . many Meroitic temples seems to be his chief cult place. In the temple of Naqa built by the rulers of Meroe Apedemak was depicted as a three-headed leonine god with four arms, and also as a snake with a lion head. However, he is usually depicted as a man with a lion head.

Sudanese Pyramids
Are you asking why this beautiful black ancient civilizations is barely noticed by media ?
am not sure but hopefully you can find some answers in documentary movies at the bottom of this blog :)
The name
Sudan is a modern name not traced before Islam empire risen , it derives from Arabic words (bilad al sudan ) , means The land of Blacks .
Sudan in the bible
historically tow name used referring Sudan , Ethiopia and Abyssinia. What Bible refers to as Cush which the Greeks called Aithiopia. But today this region is extended from southern Egypt and Northern Sudan. the ancient region of Abyssinia was much more southeast. So this is where modern Ethiopia is now located.
In a nutshell ancient Abyssinia is modern Ethiopia and ancient Aithiopia is modern North Sudan. am confuse to :) to settle it let's say that any historical mention of Cush , Ethiopia & Abyssinia all refer to at least part of current Sudan .
Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. “I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them splendidly attired, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them wielding swords; Persia, Ethiopia and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet. Ezekiel 38:3-5
A sword will come upon Egypt, and anguish will be in Ethiopia; when the slain fall in Egypt, they take away her wealth, And her foundations are torn down. Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all Arabia, Libya and the people of the land that is in league will fall with them by the sword. Ezekiel 30:4-5
