RE: How Authentic Is The History We Are Taught In School?

in #history7 years ago

A lot of people have been bluffing stuff and it makes us confused with the truth. I guess you really have to do your own research and dig on the different sides of the story by reading and asking for feedback, because they probably have their own experiences on it. Especially in social media, we have all the access almost to everything and in anything so being too skeptic and being too gullible are two things we should try not to become any of this. I guess.

Good point. I try not to be skeptical but with all the bullshit that has passed as fact in my lifetime alone, it is difficult to take anything at face value unless it is a face-to-face interaction. At least in person, I can get a sense of that person's authenticity.

I think we all have a bullshit detector built into us that is semi-reliable, but once it is written in history books or broadcast on the news who really knows the truth.

I remember my first personal experience with newsprint. I was a child at a church dinner and was holding a fork full of spaghetti noodles above my head with my mouth wide open ready to feed myself. A photographer for the local newspaper who was covering the event snapped a photo of me with my mouth wide open.

The picture in the paper only showed me with my mouth wide open. You could not see the pasta I was about to eat. The caption under the photo read something like, "Young boy sings in joy at a local fundraising event." No one was singing. There wasn't even any music there. They just wrote what they wanted to write. This happens all the time.

I have had many experiences since then when my band was covered in the press in different publications and they just make shit up. It's happened to me personally so many times I can't count them and I'm no one important. Imaging what the media does with topics of real consequence.

I'm sorry to hear about that. That's so ludicrous. There's really a reason behind our past experiences that makes us who we are today. But I can see that it made you to become stronger in all these bad experiences that you had, and that's what's important. It's difficult to be put on a bad reputation and different judgments are everywhere, but what's important is that our conscience is clean and we know what's the truth; and the people who really believes in us are what matters.

Life must go on. We all have our own insecurities and maybe that's one of the reasons why there are lots of fake news and bashers everywhere. Lol. Cheer up! :)

Oh, I have definitely cheered up! Thanks
