Evidence of Ancient Tsunami in Aceh

the tsunami that had occurred 15 years ago still left trauma in the memory of the people of Aceh, however, although trauma can be forgotten over time, evidence of a devastating tsunami must be maintained, one proof of the tsunami that occurred not only in 2004 but has never happened before this can be seen from the layer of soil in the Cave of Luntie which is currently still in the process of research conducted by professional researchers.

The cave is called the ek luntie cave by the people because in the cave there are many bats (luntie in aceh language) but now this cave has been used as a place of research, in the oak luntie cave there are deposits or several layers of guano which hold evidence of large tsunamis that have struck aceh since 7,400 years ago, the age of the deposits that have been studied produce different results, there are aged 7,400, 3,500, and 2,500 years ago and the last was 15 years ago precisely in 2004.

In addition to the ek luntie cave the researchers also traced beaches that were detected prone to an earthquake, but the government will disburse funds of 2M to restore the oak luntie cave as a Tsunami Geopark,
