Monument of teuku umar

This monument in the form of kupiah meukutop is known as the monument of teuku umar built as a memorial to the location of the shot of Teuku Umar during a battle with the Dutch led by Van Der Dussen. Teuku umar was shot on February 11, 1899 at Gampong Ujong Kalak Meulaboh, West Aceh precisely at the location of the monument was erected.
Teuku Umar was born in Meulaboh, in 1854. Since childhood, he is known to have a strong will and never give up. At a young age, he has been appointed head of the village.
