I kinda believe in that too. It's called meliorism and I consider myself a meliorist. But I guess drastically different meanings can be given to the same words, as the misinterpretations of Marx show. I wonder if Darwin had accepted the dedication, how that would've influenced the reception of Lysenko, and if some environmental catastrophes would've been prevented.
