When Google was founded in 1998 Brin wrote that a machine-learning technique known as an artificial neural network, discovered in 1940 and inspired by the study of the brain, is a forgotten footnote in computer science.
Now, the method is an investment developed in artificial intelligence. The Founder's Letter does not contain a partial list in which Alphabet uses AI for tasks such as activating autonomous cars, translating languages, adding text to YouTube videos, diagnosing eye diseases, even creating better neural networks.
Brin estimates Alphabet and other technology companies will use more AI in the future. But as mentioned earlier, Brin also highlighted the dark side of the autonomous world with various robots equipped with AI.
"The powerful device also raises many new questions and responsibilities.The AI device will change the number of jobs, or it can be used to manipulate people," he warned.
