My trip to Jamaica

I wanted to share with you a wrap-up video of my trip to Jamaica last month.

I'm a recording artist (primarily hip hop) and also a videographer from Trinidad - which is an island in the Southern Caribbean. I visited Jamaica for a videography job and my team and I took the opportunity to work on a music video for one of my songs called ROSE THORN. (It's the music on the wrap-up video; lyrics transcribed below).
Jamaica is an amazing country for the arts - it is the home of some of the greatest music from the legend Bob Marley to the dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel. Jamaica has a long history of exporting its music and culture. The people are proud and strong and confident in their own artistic opinions. So it was an inspiration to be there and to get feedback from strangers there. - One of the most fascinating parts of getting to talk to the people was the type of feedback I got. It seemed like everyone was a music expert, from giving me advice on my recording process to using their strong personalities to encourage me to own who I am and profess it proudly.
Jamaica is also the birthplace of the Rastafarian faith, where ganja is used for spiritual awakening. The Jamaican government recently recognized and chose to respect this faith, making personal ganja use legal in the country. The freedom to use cannabis without the threat of being arrested was an unmatched experience for me - as someone in a country with almost zero tolerance for the plant.
The song that I did the video for can be heard in my Jamaica wrap up video above and I've included the lyrics below for your information. It is a song about belief in your dreams, in love and perseverance. I will be directing and editing the full video and hope to release it within the next month. Look out for it!
