Arnica (herb)

in #herbs6 years ago

Arnica has a predominantly topical application. Used as a tincture or on a bandage, it relieves pain and relaxes muscles in injuries, sprains, muscular fever or joint pains. It is also useful for

treatment of insect bites. In the form of a gargle, arnica has an anti-inflammatory effect on stomatitis and pharyngitis.

Important note!

Swallowing an arnica can lead to severe poisoning. Therefore, small children or older people are not recommended to make a gargle with arnica tea. In addition, arnica and other forms may cause allergic reactions in contact with sensitive skin.

Preparation of gargle solution:

Pour 1 teaspoon. arnica with 1 cup of boiling water. Allow to stand for 10 minutes and strain. Wait until it rises and use a cool potion for the gargle. Make a gargle twice a day until the mucosal inflammation passes.

Tinctures:

Pour 50 g of arnica with 2 cups of Ethanol pure alcohol. Let them soak 10 days in a dark place. Then strain and squeeze the sludge. Dilute 1 teaspoon. tincture with 2 glasses of water. Dip the gauze into the mixture until it is completely soaked, and then place it for 10 minutes on the site of injury (not on an open wound). Repeat 3-5 times a day.
