SLC S22 Week 4 - Herbal Medicine for Hormonal Balance and Stress Management for Women

In today's blog I will be making an entry on herbal medicine for women's hormonal imbalance
Tea Recipe: Prepare a tea using at least 3 herbs to support women hormonal balance. Document the ingredients, preparation steps, and benefits of herbs and remedy
Hormonal imbalance can be so uncomfortable to a woman. It can be as a result of stress, infection or an underlying health condition.
For this tea, I will be using 3 herbs
•Ginger
•Cloves
•Tumeric
GINGER.
•Ginger is used to treat or soothing respiratory Tract Illnesses
•Ginger has anti inflammatory properties that helps the body reduce chronic inflammation which often is a result of hormonal imbalance, particularly PCOS
•Ginger also regulate the sugar content in the blood.
•Ginger supports adrenaline function which is vital for maintaining a balanced hormone.
•Ginger supports digestion
•Helps to regulate hormones like oestrogen and androgen which when not regulated causes hormonal imbalances like PCOS, endometriosis etc
CLOVES
•Cloves balances the oestrogen level in a woman which causes conditions like endometriosis, fibroid, ovarian cancer etc
•Supoorts the immune system due to it's immunomodulatory properties hereby contributing to hormonal balance
•Cloves helps in balancing digestive issues like bloating, indigestion,
•It is a perfect relief for stress. Stress contributes majorly to hormonal issues
•Cloves has a natural anyị inflammatory and pain relieving contents. It is effective in tackling menstrual and pre menstrual cramps
Tumeric
•Tumeric is a powerful anti inflammatory and anti oxidant.
•Supports adrenaline function
•Improve insulin sensitivity
•Tumeric reduces stress and anxiety which contributes to hormonal imbalance
HOW TO PREPARE
•Wash your herbs thoroughly
•Peel off the skin of the ginger and turmeric. Chop them into small sizes
•Bring the herbs to a boil
•let it cool and sieve
•store in a fridge and boil it whenever you want to drink
REMEDY
This tea is helpful to woman having hormonal imbalance like endometriosis, fibroid, ovarian cyst, irregular menstrual, PCOS etc

Cinnamon is a local spice used in flavouring food, however, it has great benefits
•Cinnamon supports fertility by decreasing inflammation and regulating menstrual cycle.
•Cinnamon is helpful for reducing inflammation which can trigger hormonal issues
•Helps in regulating menstrual cycle and relieving menstrual and premenstrual cramps
USES
Cinnamon can be incorporated into your meal.
-Can be crushed and added as powder to your meal/soup
-Can be taken as tea
-Can be added to cookies and cakes
-Can be made as Cinnamon oil
CHASTEBERRY
Chasteberry is a popular herbal remedy for woman suffering from hormonal imbalance. it shouldn't be used by a pregnant or lactating woman
Benefits of Chasteberry for Hormonal Imbalances are
• it helps in regulating Menstrual Cycles
•It is s good relief for pre menstrual Symptoms like bloating, tenderness of the breast, mood swings, and anxiety.

•Relieves Menopausal Symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and other symptoms associated with menopause
•Flaxseed contains a compound called secoisolariciresinol, which supports progesterone production and help regulate menstrual cycles.
USES
•Flaxseed can be given and put into food or smoothie
•Flaxseed can be made into flaxseed Oil and taken 1-2 tablespoons per day, either on its own or mixed with food.
•Flaxseed Tea: pour 1 teaspoon of ground flaxseed in 1 cup of boiling water for about 10 minutes. Strain the solution and drink twice daily
Stress Relief Remedy: Design a calming remedy for the women which controls the stress naturally by controling the hormones. Use at least 3 herbs. Write the process, recipe and benefits of herbs and remedy..

The process of this tea is very simple
•Wash your herbs to get rid of dust and dirt
•Peel the skin off the ginger. Chop in small particles
•Boil in water for 7-10 minutes until juice is out
•Allow to cool, strain and transfer into your cup
BENEFITS
•This tea is a great calming tea, putting the hormones to rest and balance
•It boost fertility and ovulation. When your hormones are in balance, it can boost a woman's fertility level
•It is very helpful for women going through menopause as it helps to reduce hot flashes and other hormonal issues
•Reduces menstrual and pre menstrual issues like dysmenorrhoea, amenorrhea, bloating, mood swings and anxiety, etc
