Rare Webbed Leaf/Duck Leaf Cannabis Mutation explained

Hello this rare mutation known as just webbed leaves or Duck leaves or Duck Foot seeming quite unknown to most and even some news articles try say that it originated wild in Australia based on rumours or confusion with Australian Bastard Cannabis which is another mutation anyways this Duck Leaf variant was first bred in labs in America once in the 80s but no further research was done. Maybe someone could have bred some variety of it in Australian who knows.

Above is a duck foot seed by UnderGroundSeed Company of a pure line of duck foot they’ve had for a few decades apparently.

Soon enough in the early 2000s a small seed bank named Kalyseeds starting doing the same kind of breeding which included grafting the nearby cousin of cannabis in the nettle family which is Humulus Japonica (The Japanese Hop) and grafting it to a cannabis plant.
Then hybridising it and actually producing strains with ok THC and CBD levels after years of breeding and as a Bonus to some had virtually no terpenes and so couldn’t be smelt.

Kalyseeds - Apricot delia strain with mutated variegation

I have grown these seeds including mixes or Swag Original Ortega, Ruderslis Pintura and Apricot Delia and have found them to have no smell but quite bad problems also which the Japanese Hop Hybrids face abit but a lot in this case which is Very Slow growing rates, Terrible fertility rates as well as not very medical grade strength flowers and such. They did although have a good tolerance to shade and cold bad weather but not much.

Something funny then happened when in 2015 Frisian Duck was bred and released by Dutch Passion from Frisian Dew a popular outdoor cold climate resistant strain with purple buds was released which had been hybridised with unknown Japanese Hop DNA, probably from a Kalyseeds strain who knows. Anyways it made Frisian Duck and so when I grew these hybrids and 50% of the time yielded purple phenotypes, and they had more sativa thick long medium sized buds than previously any other types of hybrids of this kind! And can grow outdoors to a big size yielding from 500grams to a kilo in a season apparently but in my experience didn’t yield as much as I thought it was and I blame it on Japanese hop genes in general for making the buds loose lol.

The potency and leaf to bud ratio wasn’t incredible but when I grew their 2017 Dutch Passion Auto Duck Frisian Duck which had Frisian Duck crossed with Auto White Widow I was shocked how insane of a plant this was with extremely fast growth rates and big thick white widow looking resin coated subtly smelling buds which never attracted unwanted attention even from my father in the small garden with neighbours. For some reason he said he thought it was garlic LMFAO, managed to smoke all of it myself yielded over a solid couple ounces each plant and it would make me feel like I was in a PlayStation 2 Chinese video game every time.

I even made some bubble ice hash out of its leaves that was fire and my friends thought it was regular indoor grown skunk buds that’s how good it was!!

I’m not sponsored by Dutch passion or anything but I really recommend the Auto Duck strain for people who need medicine and only have a small stealthy area to plant something. Oh I forgot to add even policeman stood out in my garden next to me and it and never smelt them or noticed they were different from regular garden plants lol.
