University of Houston wrongfully letting go of Austrian Econ Prof! Call to Action!!

in #help7 years ago (edited)

Professor Ross VanWassenhove is being let go soon by the University of Houston after 11 years as an Economics professor. But not because of bad performance. The school informed him with a vague two sentence letter explaining a student had reported him. Really? That is it...? Professor VanWassenhove is talking with lawyers to take the university to court over this. Perhaps FED worshiping professors that feel threatened by what he is teaching are behind this. He has been a relative new convert to Austrian economics and reading and teaching a class based on Rothbard’s “An Austrian Perspective on the History of Economic Doctrine” He said he has been getting good responses from his students and they have been beginning to challenge their professors more.

Sign this petition for Professor Ross VanWassenhove! I met him at the LPTexas Convention last weekend and he seemed like a great guy! Help support him anyway you can! Share this everywhere!

You have to checkout these comments, they are hilarious. The students who loathe him are the ones who attempt to pass classes without reading the book. They find that when the exam comes, his knack for creating the most difficult multiple choice questions does not allow them to succeed in a quest for an A.

We need all these professors we can get! Perhaps we can convince the school to give him another contract. vanwass.jpgHe loves teaching there.

Great article, you are absolutely right about needing good teachers. That is even more true when talking about subjects like economics. Resteemed.
