Help! I Spent $67 on 1 Pizza (And I Might Do It Again)
My huge goal for 2018 is to be more financially responsible. Money is something I've struggled with my whole life and I've never had a good grasp on saving.
Earlier today I was going through my BTC transactions when I realized just how much money I have pissed away on stupid shit.
Exhibit A
I was hungry, so I bought a couple of pizza's for my roomie and I. At the time, it wasn't a big deal, just 13 bucks...
Well, that pizza ending up costing me $67 with today's BTC prices.
Exhibit B
This is really regretful. During my leave I decided to power down my steem. This was pretty much so I could still buy cigarettes. Again, I have pissed away a huge amount of money and potential SP.
In Conclusion
I am dumb. How do you keep holding when things are looking so bright? Any self discipline tips?
Yeah but what flavor was the pizza?
Plain ol cheese
Ehhh let me throw a wrench into the prompt and flip it:
I spend my Steem without feeling bad about it.
I've spent thousands of dollars of Steem - equivalent to tens of thousands at today's Record High - this year. I spent it on some silly stuff like weed and fast food... and some on useful stuff like a new audio interface.
Mostly tho - I bought time. It wasn't easy, but I successfully did not take a single "real job" in 2017 - it was all freelance. So I basically spent a few tens of thousands of future dollars to buy more time in 2017 for myself - and since I'll never have access to that time again, it feels like money well spent. Even if its worth millions of dollars when I am 80 years old, I doubt I will be regretting the freedom to choose how I spent my time... regardless of the money.
Of course - a drunken pizza or cigarettes doesnt sound as noble lol but the same principle kinda applies
edit: oh and my tip is this - allocate a % of steem earnings to "waste." Maybe half of your liquid SBD rewards are "fun money" and the rest is super off limits as an SP investment. Then you get to indulge a little but still build towards a good future.
Oh no...
That's high price bro....
