Hellboy (private commission w/ process)
This was a private commission done over the holiday of Big Red himself, Hellboy. I based it on the Ron Perlman portrayal in the Del Toro films.
I started with colored pencil and acrylic paint, hashing in all the blacks and shading. For what it’s worth this is on hot press illustration board.
Then it was time to break out the airbrush. I got a little too into this and didn’t take many photos. But for the record, I used high flow acrylics.
This is how it was delivered to the client. And for fun, I added some text and such to give it an alt movie poster look.
