daing na tuyo (dried fish)
Tuyo or daing na tuyo is a fish that was sliced vertically, soaked in brine solution, placed in the strainer and let it sun dried.
Sun drying is a method of preserving food and other fresh products. Tuyo is known viand during breakfast. It is best served with sinangang (sauteed rice), fried egg, fresh sliced tomato and vinegar with garlic and chilli. Wow, what a feast!
Philippines is a country rich in marine resources. We have different kind of fishes, sea shells and other marine products. Fishing is the main source of income of peoples living near the coastal areas. Fresh fishes are being sold in the shore every morning. But some fishermen spare some fishes that will be made TUYO.
