Devotion Today: Not in Vanity

Ephesians 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

The world is full of vanities. The devil, in his craftiness, has lured many into the vanities of emptiness, wickedness and greed for more.

On this premise, the Spirit of truth admonishes us today to take heed not to walk in vanity.

To walk in vanity means putting your heart in the perishing substance of this world. It means allowing the world to dictate your actions, rather than the word of God.

Brethren, in our time it's very easy to walk in vanity and still be applauded in the midst of saints. It's easy to walk into hell while playing church.

Thus, we must sit back and ask the Holy Spirit to destroy every trace of vanity and lust that might plague us.

This is so significant, for the kingdom of God is for those that are pure and spotless, those who are not entangled in the vanity of the world system.
