The Weekly Steemit Health Challenge: Flan of Quinoa
Quinoa is a food whose demand has been increasing for a few years; Even the General Assembly of the United Nations declared the year 2013 as the "International Year of Quinoa" in recognition of its high nutrient content.
Curious fact:
Thanks to the high proportion of protein and carbohydrates that quinoa presents, compared to other grain products, it was proposed by NASA to be a food for long-duration space flights. Guaranteeing a complete nutritional contribution to the teams.
1/2 cup cooked quinoa
1/2 cup whole-grain sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 apple
1 tbsp cinnamon
Caramel: 2 tbsp. Integral sugar and water
1.-First of all, the first quinoa of lava several times until the water comes out transparent and without foam. Then cook half a cup of quinoa in a cup of water, over medium heat and without a lid for 15 or 20 minutes. Then turn off the heat, cover and let rest 15 minutes. That way I would be ready to use.
2.-Beat the 3 eggs, add sugar, teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 striped apple and cinnamon spoon.
3.-Make the caramel with 2 spoons of sugar and water.
4.-Place the rest of the apple with cinnamon at the base of the mold in a small mold and spread the caramel on it.
5.-Include the quinoa to the rest of the preparation with egg making enveloping movements. Pour into the mold and cook at medium temperature for half an hour.
6.-Remove from the oven and unmold. The pint may not be the prettiest ... But not to be afraid and enjoy a tasty and healthy dessert!
