The central concepts behind Obamacare were part of what was originally a Republican plan anyway. No one should be surprised. Of course, the idea the Trump is really a Republican (or at least in any way a "conservative") is silly anyway.
Agreed! In fact, I remember maybe 15 years ago or more watching Trump's buddy Newt Gingrich calling for it, and stressing that there needs to be an individual mandate that forces you to buy insurance. It's almost as if someone knew it wouldn't fly right off, so they'd let a Democrat pull it off, and screw a million other things up, then they'd not only accept but cheer it on if a Republican candidate pushed a pretty much similar proposal, so long as another Democrat didn't get in.
