in #health7 years ago

There are lots of different causes for improper digestion. These include, age, stress, anxiety, eating too fast or overeating, drinking a lot of water while eating, alcohol consumption, smoking, too much caffeine intake etc.  I will be sharing ways to improve your digestion and foods that are helpful with improving digestion.

  1. Exercise: Exercise is very important. We need to keep fit and in shape. Exercise helps with a numerous amount of health problems including digestion.
  2. Drinking water: Water is also something that we need make sure to get enough of everyday.  Water generally flushes out whatever infection we might have. Water is helpful in digestion. Stay hydrated.
  3. Chew your food properly: Sometimes when we don't chew our food nicely it may cause complications with digestion. It makes it difficult for food to break down in our bodies. Make sure to chew your food properly.
  4.  Don't eat when you're unhappy: If you are angry, upset, sad, fearful or tense, these emotions affect your nervous system which then affects the digestive system. Be calm and relax and enjoy your meal.
  5. Eat until you are only 3/4 food: Do not overeat because that causes complications when you eat more than your body requires.
  6. Sit and eat: Don't stand and eat. Research shows how bad it is to stand while eating or drinking. It also causes problems with digestion. Make sure to sit when eating.
