Is it bad to eat at night ? •VladiHealthTips•
Carbohydrates don't have a clock and your body doesn't take a stock after 24 hours !
Hello my Steemian friends and welcome back to another episode of my health tips.
Many people made already some New Year resolutions, one of which is the most popular is to lose weight. At this time in the year people often ask me about how they can loose weight or tell me about that they don't eat carbohydrates or anything else after 6-8pm because they think that they will gain weight.
That's why I will clear up the myth about eating carbs in the evening or at night.
Let's think about this:
Example 1
Time | Meal |
---|---|
8AM | eggs, bread, avocado, orange juice |
12PM | Caesar Salad |
5PM | Pasta |
Example 2
Time | Meal |
---|---|
12PM | eggs, bread, avocado, orange juice |
4PM | Caesar Salad |
8PM | Pasta |
Example 3
Time | Meal |
---|---|
2PM | eggs, bread, avocado, orange juice |
6PM | Caesar Salad |
10PM | Pasta |
What do you think, will there be a difference in calories which do you will take in? You know the answer already and thats right NO!
A calorie is a calorie, doesn't matter when you eat it. Gaining weight is eating more calories than you burn.
But why do most people say they gain weight when they eat at night?
Because many of them eat more calories at night than they need in a day. Maybe they restrict themselves too much during the day and start binging at night because they feel so hungry.
Another reason is people eat without considering what they eat while sitting in front of television or computer. Also people often aren't really hungry but are eating out of stress, boredom or habit. These people also make often a poor food choice at this time by eating chips, a pint of ice cream or other calorie bombs. This causes them to take in more calories than they need, but it has nothing to do with the time of the day.
In the next episode I will clear up another myth about protein shakes and if you really need them.
Stay healthy my friends!
