THE KILLER INGREDIENT: HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP contains BRAIN DAMAGING MERCURY

in #health7 years ago

If you've ever taken a look at the ingredients in a lot of these processed food products, you'll find that many of them contain (HFCS) High Fructose Corn Syrup. This is an artificial sweetener that has replaced sugar in a major way in many products.

The Washington Post reported in 2009 of a study that was done on HFCS containing products. The study found that "almost a half of tested samples contained mercury which was also found in nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products where HFCS is the first- or second-highest labeled ingredient..."

At that time, the average American was consuming 12 teaspoons of HFCS daily, but teens and other consumers were known to take 80% over the average.

Mercury has been known for a long time to cause massive neurological problems.

Consumers should also beware that HFCS has been renamed to 'FRUCTOSE' in an attempt to deceive consumers who were catching onto the health risks of High Fructose Corn Syrup.

A large number of the population thinks that sugar is to blame for the decline in American health, and they're not wrong that processed sugar is unhealthy, however, studies have found that Corn Syrup is actually more damaging than table sugar.
