Achieving health at no extra cost! If you’re anything like I was or most people, you are probably thinking that to eat healthier you have to spend more money. Even the most motivated and intentional people cannot just make money appear out of thin air. What if I told you that you can actually get healthier while spending less money. Check out our simple yet ingenious method on how you can begin living a healthier life and maybe have a little extra spending money too.
What you are about to read will be one of the most important steps toward beginning your Health Plunge! After we share this technique with you we will show you how to also take the next step!
When it comes to eating healthier there is one thing you absolutely want to be cautious of. Do not fall for all the supposed “healthy” foods or supplements. We will help you navigate the health foods landscape in another discussion. For the purpose of this topic we just want you to get started and begin feeling better as soon as possible. The reason most people even begin to consider eating healthier is so they can feel better and/or look better.
So without further ado here is the first phase you will need to complete in your Health Plunge! I want you to write down what a healthier you looks like. Are you thinner, more muscular, less crippled by disease and feeling less tired? Seriously, take a moment and think about this healthier YOU that you want to become. The term “healthy individual” takes on a different meaning for everyone and that is perfectly fine! We want you to be as healthy as you want to be.
Now that you have taken a moment to consider what a healthier you looks like, lets talk about how you can begin moving toward that healthier you. As you might imagine that “healthier you” is probably eating different foods and participating in different and more activities! The second step is to determine how much you want to live this healthier life. Are you willing to give up bad or just not so healthy eating habits?
Lets say for example you absolutely love sweets. Are you willing to love yourself more than those sweets? Are you willing for your consumption of sweets to decrease in order for a healthier you to increase? What ever unhealthy food/habit you hold onto can be substituted for this term “sweets.”
Most people think you have to eat more healthy food to begin living a healthier lifestyle. This is actually not the case. The first thing you must do is begin to eat less unhealthy foods and than over time substitute in more healthy options. So for your first action step in becoming a healthier you, we want you to begin decreasing the serving sizes of unhealthy foods in your diet. For example, If you like to have five cookies than try only eating three cookies for a period of time and than when you are ready decrease it to two and so on.
In the beginning it is very important to move at your own pace. There are many attractive “loose weight fast” and “get fit in one week” advertisements, but don’t be fooled. If you rush into eating healthy too fast you will only increase your chances of giving up on yourself. You are unique and you require a unique pace. You need to make changes as fast or as slow as you feel comfortable. It doesn't happen over night but over a period of time of making good decisions.
Start with what you know to be unhealthy in your eating habits. Decrease the foods that are known to be unhealthy. Such foods might be; sugary foods, processed foods, foods that have long chemical ingredients, ect. While you are doing this step you can begin learning about the multitude of other unhealthy foods and particularly the unhealthy ingredients hidden in so many foods in the grocery store.
By decreasing those bad foods you begin to make room in your budget to start experimenting in buying healthier foods. Always start with the most natural, organic foods as substitutes into your diet. These will pack the largest bang for your buck.
