Three easy tips to improve health

in #health6 years ago (edited)

Dear all,

As the new year began (yes, I’m a slavish fan of “new year, new me” mindset 😁👋), I decided to pay a special attention to my health. I made myself a short list of things that I will daily perform in order to accomplish my long-term healty goals. The list is short (only three items), but it has helped me to stay focused. As I found it convenient way to improve my healt on a daily basis, I wanted to share these (rather universal, though) tips with you as well:

1.Drink water 💧
Drink plenty of water. It helps your body to maintain the natural balance of body fluids. Did you know that our bodies are composed of about 60% water? These body fluids have an important duty in digestion, circulation, transportation of nutrients, absorption and maintenance of body temperature.

I bought for my husband and myself our own drink containers that helps us to track the water intaking. At a time the bottle can held 1 liter, therefore we aim to drink three times the bottle in a day.

These bottles are also PBA free hence you can without worries drink from plastic bottle.

2.Eat regularly 🥑
Eat at intervals of 3-4 hours. Eating regularly small meals ensures that your body gets the needed energy to perform daily activities. Spreading food intake to 4-5 smaller meals (instead of three large meals a day) helps you to prevent hunger pangs between meals and overeating at meals.

(I looove avocados and I couldn’t miss the opportunity to share the picture of that!😃😍)

3.Use stairs 👟
We confront daily an opportunity to use wether stairs or elevator. Choose smartly and take stairs. Your constitution will get stronger and your muscles will strength. Raising your heart rate regularly improves also the performance of your heat.

I understood that taking care of ourselves isn’t a spint of things, it’s a marathon of things. I hope these tips helps you too. 🏆

All the best,

Does the baby Sumilur has similar sneakers also? :)

Actually she does!😄👍🏻 The size of sneakers are make for 1yo hence we have to wait a while...but then we have family sneakers. 👨‍👩‍👧👟

I would like to add one thing: turn these things into a habit.

You may walk a lot for few days but then you start losing the interest in that but IF you turn walking every day into a habit, you won't stop doing it. This is what I did at least. I went from literally not walking almost at all to walking 5-10 kilometers EVERY day. I have barely missed a day in over a year.

I also always drink at least 4 liters a day because other wise I feel like shit.

That’s an excellent point! I wish I would mentioned that in the post because that is exactly what I was trying to emphasise when I wrote “taking care of ourselves isn’t a spint of things, it’s a marathon of things”. 😋☝🏽 The “new year, new me” thinking helps to adapt an mindset and therefore create habits. Your walking training is a good example! In the beginning it feels awful(👎🏼) but when you just continue and push yourself harder, your way of thinking changes and it becomes one of the (dearest) routines.🤔

In addition, 5-10km per day every day is an honoured amount! 👏🏽 Have you tried running? I take walks with strollers daily, but I don’t have any goals on kilometres...maybe I should. 🤔 Or at least try what would be an adequate/doable amount of kilometres per day.

First I started walking a lot because I took care of my sister's dog for a month and then I almost stopped walking because it wasn't so nice to walk alone but I managed to turn it into a habit because I bought a new phone (Samsung S6) and it tracked my steps. I have some kind of OCD when it comes to numbers and I felt bad when I didn't reach my daily 10k step limit :D It really helps when you have an actual goal that you have to reach and now I can easily walk ~18k steps in a day if I want.

And yes I do run sometimes but I prefer walking for some reason. And also yes it is easy (for me) to drink 4 liters a day. 5 starts to be hard but 4 liters is the average even if I don't try to drink more than usually.

I hope this Polar activity tracker will help me to track the daily steps and kilometres. I haven’t use it for a while...I even had to put it on the charger before I could took a photo of it. 😝

I hope so too. I have also thought about buying a smartwatch which would sync with my health app to make it more easy for me to track my steps. I just don't know if it's worth it since I'm not actually even a "sporty" person :D

Mine activity tracker is also syncable with an app in the phone. I found it very convenient as is genuinely helped to track daily activities. I think following your activities via phone would help you as well.

The Polar’s app, however, isn’t the best possible. 🤦🏼‍♀️ The recorded sport activities are difficult to change/otherwise make amendments to beforehand. 🤔👎🏼

Oh, and forgot to ask: is 4 litres easy to drink daily?🤔 Sometimes it feels 3 liters of water is my ultimate maximum and sometimes, however, I wake up at night and I’m still thirrrrrrsty!😃
