Good morning Steemians! Since I've been in training for half of my life I decided to start a new topic in which we'll write about types of human body and ways to 'hack' them. Check down below!
It's a well known fact that every human has different genetics and different type of body. Some of us are tall and lean, some of us are short and muscular etc etc. One thing that everybody should know that your genetics cannot be changed. It's typical that male body store their fat mostly on abdomen area while female body mostly stores fat in bottom and chest area. This is just the way it is. For us males it can certainly be frustrating to get a six pack, especially if you're in your 30's or older. One thing we can do is to workout and bulk up the right muscles to get aesthetic look. As I've said before, every human is different. Some people have almost perfect genetics and this people are blessed because their body stores fat evenly through whole body and their muscles are 'synhronized'. However, most of us don't have this type of body and some muscles could grow pretty easy while other could require much more work to grow. The perfect example for this is Arnold Schwarzenegger who is probably the most famous bodybuilder of all time. Although he had amazing body, his calves just didn't want to grow. There were some rumours that he was so frustrated that he went to plastic surgeon to get implants. Schwarzenegger just laughed at this rumours as his calves were eventually getting bigger and bigger through time. Don't let your genetics to bring you down. Just put in the work and the results are going to come!
What can you do to get better results?
Well firstly you need to know what type of body you have. Human genetics can be divided into 3 different body shapes and for every shape there are some 'hacks' that could get you better results.
Ectomorph (lean and long, low fat)
These people have difficulty with building muscle and adding fat. This can be very frustrating because their bodies just 'ignore' everything they eat. Ectomorph should lift heavy weights to rip the muscles and produce muscle 'supercells'. In extreme cases it's even recommended to have few meals of junk food per week (don't take this as excuse to eat chips and sweets often, we're talking about extreme cases). Here are some advices if you're an ectomorph:
● You should eat every 2-3 hours because your metabolic rate is very fast. This means that you should eat even if you're not hungry. Drink protein shake after workout (this is a must to).
● Add more unprocessed carbohydrates to your diet. You should often eat food like whole grains, rice and sweet potatoes. Use some carb drinks during a training to get some extra energy and save muscle cells.
● Follow your calorie intake and try adding 500 calories to your daily diet. If you feel that your muscle growth is too slow then add some more. As your weight increases your calorie intake should increase as well.
● Don't eat junk food just because it doesn't affect you so much as others. Fat could start to build-up easily if you break calorie intake on daily basis. Keep your diet well balanced.
● If you're working out then try to avoid cardio training in the same day. Your body will easily burn proteins and carbs that you have eaten and you'll leave your body without material to build new muscle cells. If you cannot avoid this then be sure to eat some additional calories after cardio.
Endomorph (often short, high body fat)
Endomorphs have trouble with losing weight. Their metabolic system is pretty slow and their bodies very much depend on their diet. Here are some advices for endomorphs who are looking to loose weight:
● Avoid carbs and eat more proteins instead. Your body has to put way more effort to digest proteins than it has to do with carbohydrates.
● Cardio is your best friend! Try to walk, run, swim whenever you can. The best time to do cardio is right in the morning before you eat or after a weight training.
● Add nuts, flax seeds & olive and fish oil to your diet. It's a well known fact that most people today lack this type of fat. This type of fat is very important for your body to function well.
● You should eat well balanced, quality meals every 3-4 hours. And don't eat too much! It takes time for body to send information to the brain that it took enough food. Eat average meal and wait for 10 minutes and you'll see that you won't be hungry.
● Eat more vegetables! This will have beneficial effect to your hormones and will balance your body's pH. There are much more benefits from vegetables so don't ignore this advice! If you are caught in a situation where you eat junk food then try to eat some salad first. Salad will slow down your metabolic system and junk food will be processed slower than usual. NOTE: IT'S STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU AVOID JUNK FOOD BY ALL COSTS IF YOU HAVE THIS TYPE OF BODY, USE THIS ADVICE ONLY IN SPECIAL OCCASIONS WHERE YOU DON'T HAVE A CHOICE.
Mesomorph (well shaped)
Muscular and well shaped, often with a high metabolism and very responsive muscle cells. This people just need to train hard and eat well and they won't have any difficulty to get aesthetic look. There are no additional tips for this body type, just keep your diet balanced!
