If practicing detachment plays a role in your daily activities, I feel this will be a very helpful addition to one's life, both physically and spiritually.
Fasting
-Resisting consumption of any food, and sometimes liquid, between the rising and setting sun
Fasting has innumerable measures of opportunity for your well-being. When we consider quality of life, this ritual will…
Boost immunities by giving the digestive system a rest
Cleanse the bodies organs
Allow time for the body to clean your joints
Normalize insulin sensitivity
Reduce hunger
Promote detox
Reduce high blood pressure
Beat addictions
Known for aiding in the cure for diabetes, arthritis, cancer, heart disease, and other diseases, we can understand the room we have for fasting in our lives.
ABOVE ALL, fasting makes us more EMPATHETIC. The empath has eyes, ears, and senses of other beings despite never actually experiencing the action or circumstance that brought about these feelings. Think about a lifetime of continual intake of foods. Without giving the body a break for periods of time, we may suffer as a result. Not only is this a vibrant start to begin a detox/new diet, it will be a continual part of our journey exercising patience OVER consumption and cravings.
Now, how often?
If you are a healthy individual, fasting 1-2 times weekly would be beneficial. Experiment between dry and wet fasts(with or without water). Every couple months, fast for 3 straight days to reset your immune system.
*Remember, hydration comes from sips, not gulps and chugging!
If you are an unhealthy individual with some kind of ailment/disease, fasting for long periods becomes more beneficial. If you have diabetes, cancer, heart disease, etc., fasting 3-60 days is really not unreasonable.
*Remember, it is also so VERY important that you consume a healthy diet between fasts. A raw vegan diet is recommended.
*Lastly, purified/spring water is essential to maximizing effects! Good luck and have fun empath!
