Ever got into work and everybody just assumes you just got out of your bed? Or that perhaps you just cried your way there? Basically waking up with puffy or swollen eyes can be abit of a bummer and there are infact many potential culprits to why this happens.

Contact lenses! Yes indeed do you have contacts? Yup keeping your contacts on for too long can cause puffy eyes, basically what happens is the contact lenses are stopping your eyes from getting the full oxygen they need which makes your cornea swell up.
So take your contacts out at night and if you can have "break days" where you take them off for long period's of time that should help.

Argh I hate this one... but basically you could simply be getting older...yes I am afraid what happens is as you age fat unfortunately deposits around the eyes making them sag causing the puffy eye effect.
Its said firming creams can help you with this...and I do believe they can but just dont expect any miracles.

It basically also causes bloating and works the same way for what happens around the eye but its said if you instead replace it with anti inflammatory foods like for example berries or ginger it will make the puffiness go down.

Question did you know that too much salt in your food could be the cause?
Yup crazy eh but the sodium in the salt makes you retain more fluid and this even includes around your eyes!
So basically make sure your not putting to much salt in your food or avoid salty food for a while and see if it helps.

Yikes what about your fragrances!
Have you ever considered them to be the cause? No?
Well basically you could be sensitive to the fragrances you are putting on-yourself or of others around you which is abit annoying as you most likely wont be able to tell who is near you that is causing your eyes to get puffy.

But if you do happen to be your very own culprit for this then you might want to consider "fragrance free products" or you could actually be doing it all wrong...

Well some people spray their fragrance's too near their own eyes, so make sure to completely keep any spraying your doing away from your face.

Lastly one for the ladies, if your a woman you could put blame on the coming of the period yes that is right we talked about bloating before and basically that bloating feeling that you get before your period...well guess what? Yup it can cause under eye bloating too, so you should notice the swelling going down once your period ends, its said drinking more water around this stage and the ol cool eye compressor's are good to use if it bothers you that much.
