Does Eating Ginger Help to Boost Testosterone?

in #health6 years ago

If you're a dude, this 3 month self-experiment may serve as a guide for staying healthy and strong 💪 when you enter your 40's!

Right now, I'm IN my early 40's.

The testosterone produced by your body starts to decline when you turn 30...

Throughout the month of April I've been detailing the measures I'm taking in the attempt to raise my testosterone.

My baseline measurements this past February and March were 426 and 437, respectively.

These values are within the "normal" range, and I'd like to find out if I can boost my T into the "high-normal" range. 🙂

This June, another blood sample will be drawn to see if the diet and supplements I'm taking result in any appreciable difference in my testosterone levels.

This journey is being detailed right here, in real time, on Steemit.

Today's supplement of study:

GINGER!

The herbal root, not the hottie from Gilligan's Island...

Though I'm sure she'd cause a rise in testosterone too. Or, at least, a rise in something...

It turns out that PLENTY of studies have been done on Ginger!

Of course, the studies conducted were primarily done with rats.

However, in the really high dose studies, the furry little monsters started kicking out testosterone like the Incredible Hulk!

Here's a link where many of the studies were listed:

http://nutrientjournal.com/ginger-health-benefits-effective-testosterone-booster/

Significant increases in testosterone were found in the rats using 100 mg/kg dosing levels.

In my case, that equals about 9 grams, the near equivalent in weight to a generous
8-ball.

Of cocaine 🍚, not billiards 🎱.

I'll be mixing the 9 grams into my morning protein shake, and the overdose possibility appears to be limited to heartburn and stomach upset.

That container pictured above weighs one pound, so the supply ought to last about 50 days; right around when I'll next be testing my blood.

Since I'm not taking any anticoagulant medication and have no heart ❤️ issues, I think I'll be fine.

This is supported by another study where the little rats 🐀 were also dosed at 2000 mg/kg for 35 days (20 TIMES what I'll be taking), and the rats didn't die or spontaneously combust.

Combining ginger with the already expansive list of foods and supplements I'm taking, I am extremely curious to see what the blood test results will be in June!

Too good I am not a man. I really don't like the taste of ginger ...

What I am taking away is that men should eat ginger to become/stay manly - and women should eat soy to become/stay womanly. What a simple world :-)

Anyway, good luck with your experiment. I will follow you now.

Thanks for your comment and the follow 🙂
You're right about the soy - it's an estrogen analogue and while healthy for women can inhibit testosterone in men...
More on that next week, have a great day @lisaliebeslust!

I don't have any idea about this that ginger has any role to produce testosterone. But ginger is a very useful thing. In our country we use ginger as a spice. It helps to digest food and it also helps to reduce gastric problem.Ginger has got very high nutrition value. This is what i know about ginger.

I knew ginger was a very healthy in some way. After reading your post and knowing that I add ginger to shrimp 🍤, which I eat regularly not having choice since my wife loves it, I’m feeling much better. At least I know there is something I do for my testosterone to boost “unknowingly”😆.
