WHY DO ASTHMATIC PATIENTS SMOKE???

Hi guys , i was involved in a fight yesterday with my friend who is #ASTHMATIC because he was smoking , i feel it is only right for me to ask. I was only concerned about his health, he is an only child. I need to know why they do not feel pity for themselves. He almost died last month because of this same thing yet he has not learnt his lessons. Is he addicted? is he doing it for fun?

Please i need your advise so we can help him stop before it's too late thanks
