Going Lectin Free... as a vegan!

Another one of my life passions is walking an open minded path to discovering my highest human health.. I say open minded because new breakthroughs in health research are discovered daily, so you’ve got to be willing to adapt and learn as you grow, without self judgement. Also, unfortunately, there are a lot of health haters out there, which can often discourage and distract your journey.. but don’t let these people get in the way of YOUR personal path to ultimate well being! THE WELLNESS WALK SHOULD BE A FUN ONE!

With that being said... my latest personal discovery is the danger of something called LECTIN!

“Lectins are like little barnacles that look for specific sugar molecules in our blood, the lining of our gut, and on our nerves. When they find a good spot to land, they cling to those cells, breaking down their ability to communicate with our immune systems.”

SOME OF THE TOP FOODS CONTAINING LECTINS ARE:
*nightshades [tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and eggplants]
*grains!
*cashews
*legumes

Well, this was tough for me to hear, because as a vegan.... grains and beans!! Those are my proteins... not to mention, they’re delicious! AND TOMATO SAUCE! It was a sad day...

THIS IS WHERE THE OPEN MINDED PART COMES IN
So I just had to breathe, and remember, I’ve dedicated my life’s journey to walking my highest health path.. and this is just a sharp turn on it! Now, it’s time to look into things I can enjoy!!

**PLEASE REMEMBER... life is meant to be enjoyed so feeling stressed and miserable is FAR WORSE than having lectins in your diet!! One of the beautiful things about being human, is that we are very resilient!! After centuries of eating these foods, among many other things we’ve done and discovered... we are just NOW scratching the surface of their not so fun effects.

WHAT I’M TRYING TO SAY IS, [although I’m not a huge fan of ‘moderation’]... Lectins in moderation, here and there, WON’T kill you! Especially if prepared well; even more so if you’re diet mainly consists of Lectin free Whole Foods!

So don’t feel like you’re doomed to a deprived lifestyle.. you can still enjoy some of your favorite foods and feel grateful that you are a strong resilient human!
