Britain's most dangerous plant - Hogweed

Newport is warning parents after someone's daughter suffered chemical burns caused by a common garden weed.

Two-year-old Lexi Buchanan was out walking with mum Jamie and their dog when she came into contact with hogweed, dubbed Britains most dangerous plant. Giant hogweed is a highly invasive plant which is dangerous to humans, but there are ways to stay safe from it if you know what to look out for.

When these come into contact with the skin, and the skin comes into contact with UV light, these chemicals lead to a condition called phytophotodermatitis​ - a red rash, often followed by severe burns and blistering within 24 hours.
If you come into contact with Giant Hogweed, the NHS advises covering the affected area and washing it with soap and water.
If you begin to feel unwell after contact with giant hogweed, you should speak to your doctor.

So my thoughts​ are, if you know that this plant is a problem if it is exposed to human flesh, why not just cut it away from dwellings?!
